Water rises at 56 river points, falls at 23

Water levels in 56 river stations, monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC), have marked rises while 23 stations recorded falls.

Among the stations, three are above danger level, said a bulletin of FFWC said yesterday.

All the major river systems are in rising trend.

The Ganges-Padma river system is likely to fall while the Surma-Kushiyara to rise in next 48 hours.

A total of 115mm rainfall was recorded at Rangamati, 80mm at Cox's Bazar, 74.2mm at Kushtia, 64.5mm at Satkhira, 53.8mm at Barguna, 93mm at Faridpur, 75mm at Sherpur and Sylhet, 65mm at Khulna, 59mm at Comilla and 52mm at Teknaf.
