Two dyeing factories fined for polluting environment

The Department of Environment (DoE) yesterday fined two dyeing factories Tk 57 lakh for polluting the environment by dumping untreated water into the nearby water body in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur.
Dong Bang Dyeing Ltd was fined Tk 44 lakh and Interstoff Apparels Ltd Tk 13 lakh, said a press release.
DoE sources said the Dong Bang Dyeing Ltd was also operating their factory without DoE permission.
