The International Crimes Tribunal-1 yesterday sent three war crimes accused of Mymensingh and Jamalpur to jail after police produced them before it.

The accused are: Rezaul Haque alias Akkas Moulvi of Muktagachha upazila in Mymensingh and Yunus Ali and Omar Faruk of Harinakundu upazila in Jamalpur.

Police on Wednesday arrested them from their residences in Mymensingh and Jamalpur, hours after the tribunal issued arrest warrants against eight men including the three for allegedly committing crimes during the 1971 Liberation War.

AKM Yusuf, another accused of the case arrested from Dublar Char on Wednesday, could not be produced before the tribunal yesterday, Prosecutor Abul Kalam told The Daily Star. He would be produced on Sunday, he added.

According to the prosecution, the eight were "involved" with the Razakar and Al-Badr Bahini, two auxiliary forces of the Pakistani occupation army.
