Three Ctg 'JMB' men remanded

A Chittagong court yesterday remanded three suspected activists of JMB for four days each in two cases.

The order came when law enforcers produced them before it seeking 10 days' remand for each of them, court sources said.

Naimur Rahman Nayan, Faisal Mahmud and Shawkat Russell, also students of the physics department at Chittagong University, were arrested on December 26 last year.

Earlier on October 5, detectives had arrested five JMB men and seized handmade grenades and ammunition from their possession. Of the arrestees, one Javed was killed in a grenade explosion when police along with him rushed to Bayezid area to search for more grenades. Later, the two cases -- one under the explosive substances act and another over a murder and attack on police -- were filed.
