It was the second day of hearing on the appeal filed against the death penalty given to Salauddin by the International Crimes Tribunal-1 on October 1, 2013 for committing crimes against humanity during the war.

Meanwhile, convicted war criminal Mahidur Rahman filed an appeal with the Supreme Court on Tuesday challenging a verdict of the International Crimes Tribunal-2 that had sentenced him to jail till death. SC will now fix a date for hearing the appeal.

The tribunal on May 20 this year sentenced Mahidur and Ashraf Hossain Chutu of Shibganj upazila under Chapainawabganj to jail until their death for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
