"These universities cannot run in this way for long," he said while presiding over the fourth convocation of Uttara University (UU) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city, said an official release.

The government wants to ensure equality education for all public and private  university students, the minister said and urged the university authorities to  keep their fees within a limit in view of the socio-economic condition.

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan was the convocation speaker while UU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Azizur Rahman and UU Board of Trustee Chairman M Badrul Iqbal addressed the function.
