Six robbers arrested after 'gunfight' with Rab

Rab arrested six members of a robber gang, including the kingpin, after a gunfight with the criminals at Narinda in Old Dhaka early yesterday.

The arrestees are gang leader Rubel, 25, -- who sustained bullet  injury in the gunfight -- Alam, 50,  Mosto Munshi, 53, Wazed Hawlader, 50, Kuaser, 24 and Onik, 22.

On information that a gang of robbers were preparing to conduct robbery, members of Rab-2 raided the area. Sensing their presence the criminals opened fire at Rab personnel who also retaliated.

Two foreign-made pistols, two magazines, three bullets and other equipments used for robbery were recovered from the spot.
