Selection committee formed to fill two ACC commissioner posts
A five-member selection committee has been formed to fill up the posts of two commissioners of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC chairman and commissioner's posts will be vacant soon.
The selection committee members are Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, judge of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court; Justice M Enayetur Rahim, judge of High Court Division; Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, controller and auditor general of Bangladesh; Sohorab Hossain, chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission and Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, former cabinet secretary.
If the former cabinet secretary fails to carry out the task, current cabinet secretary will do the job, reads a gazette notification issued today.
The selection committee will propose two names for the post of commissioners to President Abdul Hamid, reads the gazette signed by Khandker Anwarul Islam. President Abdul Hamid will choose from one of them.
The tenure of the ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood and Commissioner AFM Aminul Haque will expire in March.
Both joined the ACC on March 14, 2016.
