SBMCH doctor found dead in Barishal clinic

A physician of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) was found dead at a clinic's basement in Barishal city this morning.

Being informed, police recovered the body of Dr MA Azad (45), senior consultant of Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of the SBMCH, from the area under the elevator of Mamata Specialized Clinic located on Kalibari Road in the city around 10:15am, said SBMCH director Dr Bakir Hossain.

Dr Azad remained missing since yesterday, he added.

Talking to our Barishal correspondent, clinic director Prof Dr Johirul Islam Manik, said Azad -- from Dhaka's Keraniganj -- was a surgeon of the clinic and used to live in a room on the sixth floor of the building.

Abdur Rahman Mukur, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Kotwali Police Station, said they are looking into the matter.
