SAMS Kibria murder case testimoy recording deferred again
A Sylhet court yesterday deferred, for the 10th time, the recoding of testimonies of witnesses till today in the former finance minister SAMS Kibria murder case as only five accused out of 14 appeared before the court yesterday.
Public Prosecutor Kishore Kumar Kar said former state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar and suspended Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury did not appear on sickness ground while the others appeared before different courts.
Four, out of 171 witnesses, including complainant Awami League Habiganj district unit's general secretary Abdul Majid, made depositions before the tribunal during five days' of recording.
Five people, including Kibria, were killed and 70 others injured in a grenade attack on a public rally of local Awami League at Baidder Bazar in Sadar upazila on January 27, 2005.
