Road crashes kill six, injure two
Six people were killed and two others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday and Sunday.
In Joypurhat, Mahid Hossain, a pickup-van helper, was killed and its driver injured when the vehicle hit a roadside tree as the driver lost control over it on Joypurhat-Bogra highway in Thusigari village under Kalai upazila yesterday.
In Dinajpur, a motorcyclist and his co-rider were killed when his vehicle collided head-on with a tractor on Dhukurjhari-Maherpur road in Dhukurjhari area of Biral upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased were Rezaul Islam, 30, of Dherapatia and Mosaddeq Hossain, 29, of Bonhara village.
In Bogra town, Miraz, 18, of Malgram area was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle at Shakpala on Bogra-Natore road in Shajahanpur upazila on Sunday evening.
In Rangpur city, a rickshaw-van puller was killed when a truck hit his van on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Modern intersection area yesterday.
In Badarganj upazila of the district, Mokhlechhur Rahman, 30, of Thakurgaon was killed and his wife injured as his motorcycle hit a roadside tree after he lost control over the vehicle on Badarganj-Parbatipur road in Mirapara area on Sunday evening.
