Road crashes kill 5, injure 3

Five people were killed and three others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday.

In the capital, Jerin Akhter, 6, daughter of rickshaw puller Safar Ali was killed as a battery-run auto-rickshaw hit her while she was crossing the road in Barisur Pakapul area of Kamrangir Char in the capital.

In Tangail, three youth were killed when a bus hit their motorcycle on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila.

The deceased were Shah Alam, 24, Habibur Rahman, 23, and Farhad Hossain, 22. They all hailed from Dhamrai.

Meanwhile in Naogaon, Bappi, 20, of Moyai village was killed and three people were injured when a tractor hit an auto-rickshaw in Boidyapur village of Manda upazila.
