Road crashes kill 5

Three pedestrians were killed when a bas hit them before falling into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the vehicle on Rangpur-Bogra highway in Masta  village of Gaibandha yesterday.

The deceased were Alim Mia, 37, Ismail Hossain, 40, and his wife Tara Begum, 32, of the village.

Fifteen passengers of the bus were also injured.

Meanwhile in Chittagong, two people were killed and three others injured when a covered-van hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in Patiya upazila.

The dead was Md Moktar, 22, of Jiri union and Md Nayan, 13 of Kusumpura.
