Rab rescues girl from attempted forced prostitution, one held

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) rescued a teenage girl from attempted forced prostitution in Chandgaon area of Chittagong city yesterday, and arrested a woman in this connection.

Two youths who were previously acquainted with the girl, 14, brought her to the city from Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar on August 3 and handed her over to the woman, Rab-7 officials said. The woman kept her captive in her house for around four months and forcefully tried to engage her in prostitution, said the officials.
