Probe report deferred to March 20

International Crimes Tribunal-1 deferred from yesterday to March 20 the submission of an investigation report, if there was any, on war crimes allegations against seven men from Purbadhala upazila of Netrakona.

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Anwarul Haque set the date after prosecutor Sabina Yasmin Munni sought two more months.

The accused are Ahmmad Ali, Abdur Rahman, Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Majid, Abdul Khaleq Talukder, Kabir Khan, Mohammad Nuruddin and Salam Begh.

Ahmmad died of old age complication in October last year. Abdur Rahman has been kept in jail while the rest are on the run.

The tribunal's investigation agency, which stared the probe in February 2014, said it has already found preliminary evidence of their "involvement" in war-time crimes including murders.

Police arrested Ahmmad and Abdur Rahman after the tribunal issued arrest warrants for the seven in August last year.
