PM's APS impostor arrested

Detectives yesterday arrested an impostor, who used to swindle people out of their money by masquerading as prime minister's assistant private secretary, in the capital.

Shahidul Islam, 28, used to call people using PM's real APS Saifuzzaman Shekhor's unused Banglalink SIM which the impostor replaced providing fake documents to the mobile phone operator's customer care center, said police. He used to send his men for collecting money from his targets for lobbying different officials to get their works done.

Shekhor's representative filed a case on Saturday. Shahidul was arrested with the SIM and three cell phone sets before Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
