One remanded

A Dhaka court yesterday granted a four-day remand for one of the arrestees in a case filed for the "secrete" burial of a Japanese woman in the capital.

Uttara police produced HM Jakir Patowary Ratan before the court it with a 10-day remand prayer.

Hiroe Miyata, 60, was buried "secretly" in the capital's Uttara graveyard in October this year by her "business partners."

The incident surfaced after Japanese embassy in Dhaka complained about her missing in a general diary lodged with the police on November 19. Police have arrested five suspects in this connection.

As the arrestees denied murdering Miyata and claimed that the woman died of illness, police exhumed the body on November 27 following a court order.

Forensic doctors conducted an autopsy on Miyata but found no injury marks as her body was decomposed. Police are now waiting for the viscera report to know the reason of behind the death.
