One lakh Yaba recovered, 4 arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered one lakh Yaba tablets and arrested four people in this connection in Chittagong city on Monday.

The arrestees are Md Alamgir, 34, of Karnaphuli Charlakhkhya, Chan Miah Saodagar, 49, of Patiya upazila, Anisur Rahman, 35, of Chandgaon and Hosne Ara Begum, 30, of Satkania upazila.

Two motorcycles and Tk 3.40 lakh were also recovered from their possession, said Rab-7 officials.

On information, a team of Rab-7 intercepted a motorbike and arrested Alamgir, Anisur and Chan Miah with 90,000 yaba tablets in Surson Road area, said the officials.

Later, following information gleaned from them, Rab arrested Hosne Ara from her house at Chandgaon and recovered 10,000 more yaba, they added.
