Municipal councillor in Ctg sent to jail in murder case

A Chittagong court yesterday sent a municipal councillor of Satkania upazila to jail in a case filed over the killing of a person during the day of municipal election.

Mozzamel Haque Bhola surrendered before the court yesterday seeking bail but the court rejecting it sent him to jail, said court Inspector Moshiur Rahman.

On December 30, during municipal polls, one Nurul Amin was killed during a gunfight between the supporters of councillor aspirants Bhola and his rival Manirul Islam at Satkania Government College centre.

Later, Amin's wife lodged the case accusing nine people including Bhola.
