Kamrangirchar boy drowns in Buriganga

A two-year-old boy drowned in the river Buriganga in Dhaka's Kamrangirchar yesterday.
The victim was Manik, son of Rasel who is a street vendor and lived in a rented house beside the river.
Kamrangirchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mohsin said the boy might have slipped from the riverbank as he tried to go to one of his relatives bathing in the river.
Locals fished him out and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead.
