JSC examinee's death on road sparks protest
Two, including a JSC examinee, were killed and another was injured when a bus rammed into a rickshaw on Dhaka-Mawa highway in Kuchimora of Munshiganj while they were going to the examination centre yesterday morning.
The deceased were Rifat Ahmed, 12, son of Ripon Ahmed of Teghuroya village and rickshaw puller Ainuddin, 40, of Sirajdikhan. Rifat was a student of Rajanahar High School
Rifat's uncle Jisan who was injure in the accident is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Protesting the incident locals blocked the highway and vandalised around seven vehicles in the area disrupting the vehicular movement for about two hours.
Meanwhile in Barisal, two brothers were killed when a pickup van plunged into a roadside ditch after it collided head-on with a newspaper carrier microbus at Shanuhar under Wazirpur Police Station on Barisal-Dhaka highway.
The deceased were Abul Haoladar, 56, and Ismail Haoladar, 49, of Hastishunda.
