Javed Patwary appointed ambassador to Saudi Arabia
Outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary has been appointed as Bangladeshi ambassador to Saudi Arabia today.
The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a gazette notification in this regard.
He has been appointed for the next three years, according to the gazette.
He was supposed to go on post-retirement leave tomorrow (April 14).
The government on January 25, 2018 appointed Patwary as the inspector general of police.
Before this, Javed who served as the chief of Special Branch, was upgraded to the rank of secretary in 2013.
Javed joined police service after he topped the merit list of the police cadre in the sixth BCS, 1984.
Hailing from Mandari village in Chandpur Sadar upazila, he did his honours and master's in social welfare at Dhaka University. He also obtained a PhD in public administration at Jahangirnagar University.
