Indian held with smuggled gold
Customs authorities detained an Indian national with four gold bars, weighing around 4kg, in the capital's Shahjalal International Airport yesterday afternoon.
Detainee Rawshan Ali, 32, was caught upon suspicion after he landed at the airport around 4:00pm on a Biman flight from Bangkok, said Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, assistant commissioner of the airport customs.
The approximate market price of the gold is around Tk 2 crore, he added.
