Ice-cream factory sealed off, owner fined

A mobile court yesterday sealed off an ice-cream factory in the capital's Tejgaon for producing items using inedible ingredients, says a press release.

The court assisted by Rab-2 also fined the owner, Alamgir Hossain, Tk 1 lakh for operating the factory -- Mim Ice-cream -- without any BSTI approval.

In primary interrogation, Alamgir confessed that he had been involved in the offence for a year. Rab also demolished around 15,000 ice-creams on the spot.
