Husband, cohort get life term for immolating second wife in Gazipur

A Gazipur court yesterday sentenced a husband and his cohort to life imprisonment for immolating his wife at Deora village in Kapasia upazila on August 20, 2000. 
The court also fined each of the convicts, Nazrul Islam, of Mymensingh, and Shahidullah alias Shahid, of Gazipur, Tk 50,000. 
Nazrul had been facing problems with his first wife since he married his sister-in-law, Hamida. So, Nazrul with Shahid's help burnt Hamida after tying her hands and gagging her at a sugarcane field.
