Girl rescued, 7 arrested in Ctg

Police rescued a girl, who was kept hostage by a gang and forced to involve in anti-social activities, from Bakalia area of Chittagong city yesterday.

Seven people -- Badiul Alam, his wife Moni Begum, Omar Faruque, Ariful Islam, Abu Taleb, Md Aslam, and Baby Akhter -- were arrested in this connection.

The gang picked the girl up from Razakhali Bridge after luring her on Sunday.

Tipped-off, police arrested Badiul from Farider Para and later arrested the rest six following information gleaned from him.
