Four held for 'raping' teen

Police early yesterday arrested four youths in Baizid area of Chittagong city following a case filed over raping a 19-year-old female on Friday evening.

The arrestees are Md Hasan Joy, 25, Omar Faruk, 22, Jobair Hossain Yasen, 23 and Sharif Uddin, 23, of the area. The four are among the seven accused in the case.

According to the case filed by the victim, the youths waylaid her while she was returning home from a relative's house at Chandranagar under Baizid Police Station Friday evening. They forcefully took her to a nearby hill where Hasan raped her. When the victim, a garment worker, started screaming the youths fled.

Officer-in-Charge of the police station said they were trying to arrest three other accused, Md Belal, 23, and two unnamed youths.
