Five including 3 Nigerians held over 'swindle'
The Rapid Action Battalion yesterday detained five persons, including three Nigerians, allegedly for swindling money from different people in the capital.
At a press briefing at Rab-2 headquarters, Rab Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan claimed that following an allegation of swindling money from a female doctor, Rab men also recovered Tk 53,011 and seized local and foreign passports, ATM cards and cell phones from their possession.
The official said the three Nigerians had been living in Bangladesh for several years without any valid documents.
The arrestees also swindled about Tk 20 lakh from different people last one week, claimed the Rab official. The Daily Star could not verify any claim of Rab.
