DU student, another held

Police yesterday arrested two persons, including a DU student, for allegedly dealing an illicit agreement of question paper leakage with an admission seeker of 'Ka' unit at the university's Jagannath Hall.

The arrestees are Joydip Nath Dutta, a student of the Linguistics department of DU and his friend Partha Pradip.

DU acting proctor Prof M Amzad Ali said, "Acting on a tip-off, our proctorial team caught the duo from the gallery of Jagannath Hall playground while they were dealing with an admission seeker of providing entry test question papers of 'Ka' unit charging Tk 4.70 lakh."

The team handed over the two to Shahbag police who later arrested and filed a case against them.

A total of 71,350 candidates are vying for 1,660 seats under Ka unit (science faculty) this year. The one and a half hour test will start tomorrow at10:00am.
