DU female 'stalked, slapped by BCL man'

A Dhaka University student was allegedly stalked and assaulted by a Bangladesh Chhatra League leader on the campus on Friday night.

Miskat Husain, deputy education secretary of Surya Sen Hall unit of BCL, teased the female student while she was returning to a dormitory from a private tuition, campus sources said.

"I heard about the assault of the female student," said BCL DU unit president Abid Al Hasan, adding that they would take organisational actions against him.

DU Proctor AM Amzad told The Daily Star that the student complained to him over the phone that he teased and slapped her. "I told her to send me a written complaint," he added.

Miskat, however, said he was not involved in the incident.
