DPDC penalises electricity thieves

Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd (DPDC) with a special taskforce drive unearthed an aggregated power pilferage of over seven lakh units, worth Tk 1.25 crore, in different parts of the capital during past week.

The taskforce conducted 11 drives at five industrial, three commercial and one residential establishment since February 2 in Bongshal, Lalbagh and Bansree.

Around 100 illegal power connections were severed and an engineer had been suspended in relation to power pilferage. Several cases were filed.
