DNCC drive against illegal billboards, banners from Sept 15

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will launch a mobile court drive from September 15 to remove illegal billboards, signboards, banners, festoons, project signs and shop signs from its areas.

Prior to the drive, the city corporation will ask people concerned to legalise their billboards, signboards, banner and festoons by September 14.

Some people in the DNCC area are advertising their respective business putting up billboards, signboards, banners and festoons without the approval of DNCC, said DNCC mayor Atiqul Islam in a preparatory virtual meeting today.

Many are also using sign boards that are larger than the approved size, he added.

"This why the city is not only losing its beauty but also DNCC is being depriving of its revenue," Atique said.

Mayor urged everyone to take approval from the revenue section of DNCC by September 14 or they will face the drive from September 15.

In addition, auction will continue to remove illegally placed construction materials and other installations on sidewalks and roads, he said.
