Discussion on singer SM Bakht Shah Chisti held

A discussion on the life and works of singer SM Bakht Shah Chisti, also a mystic was held in the capital yesterday, said a press release.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Bakht Shah Adhyatik Shilpi Goshthi jointly organised the event and a cultural programme in Jatiya Sangeet o Nrityakola Kendra auditorium to make the youth familiar with his songs.

He composed over a thousand of songs between 1966 and 1971 and later a compilation of his 95 songs titled "Tatmogitika Moromika" was released.

He passed away in 1994.

The academy's Secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury presided over the discussion while Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha's Chairman Abul Kalam Azad was the chief guest.
