Dhaka and New Delhi will have a foreign secretary-level meeting in the Indian capital tomorrow to review the progress made towards implementation of agreements since Narendra Modi visited Dhaka in last June.

The foreign secretaries will also review the relations and expand "multi-sectoral cooperation" between the two countries. Diplomatic sources said Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque leaves Dhaka for New Delhi this morning on a three-day visit.

The Bangladesh side is expected to focus on water issues, especially the Teesta river water sharing agreement, apart from discussing other bilateral matters, official sources said.

"You know the number of agreements that were signed during the prime minister's visit to Bangladesh. This is an opportunity to expand multi-sectoral cooperation with Bangladesh," said Vikas Swarup, official spokesperson of the ministry of external affairs, in a regular briefing in Delhi.
