CU teachers wear black badges protesting proposed payscale

Teachers of Chittagong University (CU) yesterday wore black badges protesting the new proposed payscale terming it "discriminatory" and "disrespectful" to university teachers.

The teachers also urged the education minister to play an active role in meeting their demand, said a press release of Chittagong University Teachers Association (Cuta).

The teachers demanded a separate payscale for university teachers and for senior professors to get the same pay as that of senior secretaries.

They will wear black badges today as well, said the release.
