Ctg public servants want selection grade, time scale back

Some public servants of Chittagong yesterday made a six-point demand including reinstating selection grade and time scale in the 8th national pay scale and appointing as assistant to senior secretaries cadres relevant to the ministries concerned.

At a press conference in Chittagong Press Club under the banner Prokrichi-BCS Cadre, Non-cadre and Functional Service Committee Chittagong district and division units, they also demanded empowering chairmen instead of giving all authority to upazila nirbahi officers.

Other demands include ending discrimination among cadres, providing equal career development opportunities, ensuring cadres of all backgrounds at Bangabhaban, Prime Minister's Office, Cabinet Division and public service ministry; and selecting relevant offices in deciding deputations.
