Ctg MPO-enlisted teachers demand eighth pay-scale without evaluation

Over hundred teachers of non-government educational institutes under Monthly Payment Order (MPO) in Chittagong yesterday demanded eighth pay-scale payment without any condition.

Teachers formed a human chain under the banner of Bangladesh Sikkak Samity Chittagong and Bangladesh College Bishwabiddaloy Sikkak Samity from 11:00am to 12:30pm and handed a memorandum to prime minister via the Chittagong Deputy Commissioner.

Anchal Chowdhury, joint secretary of Bangladesh Sikkak Shamiti Chittagong said the MPO-enlisted teachers have been facilitated with the national pay-scale. However, in the eighth pay-scale, their performance would be evaluated by education ministry and finance department.

If their demands of pay-scale without evaluation are not met, the teachers threatened to wage a tougher movement like the ongoing one of the public university teachers.
