Ctg man to die for killing wife

A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife over dowry in 2008.

The convict, Md Anwar Hossain Sujan, 30, of Battery Goli in Chittagong, is in jail.

According to the prosecution, Anwar often tortured his wife Khaleda Akhter for a Tk 1 lakh dowry. 

On April 20, 2008 Anwar strangled Khaleda and then hung her body from the ceiling of a room in their house after an argument over the money.

On May 5 of the same year, Khaleda's sister Jahanara Begum filed a case against him.
