Ctg garment workers demonstrate for salary

About a hundred workers of a garment factory demonstrated on the factory premises in Anderkilla of Chittagong yesterday, demanding payment of their salary for June.

Workers of Masuda Fabrics (Pvt) Limited observed an hour-long sit-in and chanted slogans, said police.

Ratan Kumar Dasgupta, assistant superintendent of police and operation officer of Industrial Police-3, said the owner of the factory, one Kamal Hossian, shut the factory a few days ago without paying the workers their salary.

The workers dispersed after police assured them of finding the owner before Eid.
