Couple found dead in Barisal

A couple was found dead in their house in Kawnia First Lane area of Barisal city yesterday.

The deceased were Mukul Begum, 35, -- an assistant (muhuri) of an advocate -- and Abdul Khalek, 40, a construction worker.

Locals said after getting no response from inside till noon they removed the fence of the house and found the slit-throat body of Mukul and Kalek's body with a rope tied around his neck.

Police suspected that Khalek killed his wife over a family feud and later committed suicide.

The bodies were sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
