Citizens can learn from history for better future

A concerned citizen can learn from history and play an effective role in building an independent and sovereign country, said Executive Director of Ain o Salish Kendra Sultana Kamal yesterday.

Sultana Kamal was speaking at a programme, Present Reflection of History and Heritage: Citizen's Conscience at MAG Osmani Memorial Lecture 2015, held at Dhaka University. General Osmani Scholarship Fund and DU's history department organised the memorial lecture. Sultana Kamal said those who are concerned with history would ultimately build the future of the country.

Paying tribute to the memory of Osmani, DU Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique urged historians to deliver facts not altered by bias.

At the programme, 19 students were awarded the Bongobir MAG Osmani scholarship, Anjuman Mufidul Islam Scholarship and scholarship of the history department for brilliant results in honours and master's exams.
