Case filed over assaulting two lawyers of Ctg court

A case was filed against two ansar members yesterday for allegedly assaulting two lawyers of Chittagong Court on its premises on January 20.

Advocate Nishat Sultana, who was assaulted with Chittagong Bar Association's Senior Vice-President Advocate Abul Kalam, lodged the case with the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate, said court sources.

The two accused Md Jaker and Md Humayun -- guards of Chittagong Deputy Commissioner's office -- beat the driver Md Siddique of Nishat Sultana centering car parking on the premises. Nishat and Abul Kalam were assaulted when they protested the incident. The court taking the case into cognizance directed the deputy director of Ansar to submit a report by January 26.
