Boy 'killed' by father's former co-worker over previous enmity in Gazipur
An eight-year-old boy was killed allegedly by his father's former co-worker following a previous enmity over money in Betjuri area of Sreepur municipality in Gazipur on Wednesday.
Police recovered the body of Shaheen, son of Emdadul Haque from a cannel in Betjuri area yesterday morning.
Shaheen was a third-grade student of local Sultan Uddin Memorial Academy.
Police also arrested the alleged killer Pappu, 17, of Dinajpur yesterday.
Officer-in-Charge of Sreepur Police Station Asaduzzaman said Pappu confessed that on Wednesday, he lured Shaheen with chocolates and took him outside their home.
Later, he killed him by pushing him into Betajuri canal after hitting him on his head with a stick, said the OC.
Pappu -- who used to work at the same workshop with Shaheen's father -- claimed that after he left his job the employer handed over his two months salary to Emdadul, which he was not giving to Pappu, said the OC.
