Bangladeshi student becomes first runner-up in int'l arithmetic competition

Sharif Adibur, a class-V student of European Standard School in the capital's Dhanmondi area, has become the first runner-up in the International Abacus and Mental Higher Arithmetic Competition-2015.

Nearly 50,000 students from 32 countries, including Bangladesh, India, China, Russia,  the USA, and UK, participated in the arithmetic competition held in Manila, Philippines, on July 26, a press release said yesterday.

Adib is the son of former judge Shariph Lutfar Rahman.
