Ashulia shops shut protesting extortion

Over 100 shop owners of Noyarhat Bazar in Ashulia kept businesses shut throughout the day and blocked the adjoining Dhaka-Aricha highway for half an hour yesterday demanding arrest of extortionists who hours earlier beat one of them and snatched Tk 25,000 demanding Tk 5 lakh.
The road block was removed after police assured looking into the matter.
