Arrest warrants for 28 BNP men issued

A Dhaka court yesterday issued arrest warrants for 28 BNP leaders and activists, including Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, in a case filed over torching a vehicle in the capital's Mirpur on January 30 this year.

The court passed the order after taking the charges into cognizance against 32 including the 28. The court also asked police to submit by August 23 a report on the execution of  the order.

Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Habibunnabi Khan Sohel, and Maruf Kamal Khan are also facing the arrest warrants.  Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papia are in jail while two other accused Mossaraf Hossain and Nasir Hossain are on bail.
