Abducted N'ganj bride rescued

Rapid Action Battalion rescued a bride from Gazipur's Jamalpur Mirpara Sunday night three days after she had been abducted from Araihazar in Narayanganj on the wedding day.

Rab also arrested three people Mofazzal Hossain, 18, Sujan, 21, and Rubel, 25, said Lt Col Anwar Latif Khan, commanding officer of Rab-11, at a press briefing at its Adamzi headquarters yesterday morning.

Some ornaments looted from the bride and four mobiles used in the abduction were recovered from them, he said.

Rab said the gang halted the wedding vehicle and took away the newly wedded bride at gunpoint on Friday evening.

Later, the bride's father filed a case with Araihazar Police Station, saying that at least seven to eight local miscreants, including Mofazzal, 24, Alamgir, 20, and Rakib, 19, abducted his daughter.
