Abducted boy yet to be rescued

Police are yet to rescue a four-year-old boy who was abducted from Adarshapara area in Rangpur city over a month ago.

The family of Rahimul Islam Rawnak, son of Mosaddek Hossain Ranga, along with locals formed a human chain demanding immediate arrest of the abductor on Monday.

Mosaddek's cousin Mobasser Alam, 40, of Mithapukur upazila, abducted Rawnak on December 1 while he was playing outside, said the victim's mother, adding that Mobasser had been threatening to kidnap the child over a financial dispute.

The family claimed that police were not active at the beginning.

Rangpur Kotwali police said the abductors were frequently changing their location but the drives were on.
