5 injured, 3 shops damaged in Keraniganj fire

Five people were injured and three shops damaged in a fire in a market at Jinjira in Dakkhin Keraniganj of Dhaka yesterday morning.

The injured -- Ujjal, 25, Ibrahim, 18, Rony, 28, Masud, 30, and Samad, 18, -- are employees of a RMG factory.

Factory owner Md Yasin took the five to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. They were released after primary treatment.

The five were working inside the factory in Khawaja-5 market, when the fire originated from an electric short circuit around 11:00am, said Yasin.

Fire fighters doused the flame at 1:15pm.
