4 arrested for security guard murder in Ctg

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested four people in connection with the murder of the security guard of Al-Arafah Islami Bank in Muradpur of the port city.

CMP Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol disclosed the information at a press conference yesterday. The four were arrested from different areas of the port city and Kishoreganj.

The arrestees are group leader Gias Uddin, 31, Mahbubul Alam, 26, Mazharul Islam Arif, 24 and Mohammad Sagar, 25.

Police recovered blood stained clothes and the mobile-phone of the security guard from their possessions.

The arrestees confessed to the murder, Mondol added.

Mohammad Ibrahim, Muradpur branch security guard of Al-Arafah Islami Bank was killed during a robbery on the night of May 7.

Police said six were involved in the murder and robbery incident. They are looking to arrest 'Raihan' and 'Masud' as well, he added.
